Football Expert Sutton Battles Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

Arsenal's ten-match winning run was ended by Sunderland before the global hiatus, but will the English top division frontrunners bounce back against local foes Spurs this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus AI, fans and a range of guests.

In week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

Murs' latest album, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Football and Parenting Life

Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not planning a professional return as a player.

"{I actually played in a charity game the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."

Murs and his spouse his partner have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.

"I won't push football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their weekend football team," he added.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our side for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their attack is now stronger with Pedro and Delap both back fit.

I still think this fixture will be quite tight, though. The Clarets are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

This suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their past two matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look strong again.

West Ham's only away win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno was previously that team's coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - can the Hammers extending their run under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to choose the Cherries, because I think what happened against Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the season started, but they have surprised a several people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their past four games.

My son advised me to get Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had great success on the travel this season, and Brighton are consistently decent at home. Brentford will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a threat.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually proves to be rather tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.

Fulham have have lots of quality in their squad but it still seems like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.

As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.

The away side's performance in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We've not witnessed any other team rough up the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the end of October.

However I am not going to do that. Rather, I truly need to continue opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they clearly love to prove me wrong.

Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the sole team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be absolutely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and also that the hosts are on a bad streak... but they have still been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard fixture to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but could they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
